TY

This stunning handsome boy of 3yrs is available for adoption. He lost his home after the husband had a heart-attack and the family moved to a smaller home with no fenced yard.
This boy is very intelligent and is looking to play any new game you can teach him. He is very active and interested in life around him.  He was raised with 2 children and other dogs.
Ty is a lot of dog and does need some "Tweaking" of manners. He has what it takes to be a search and rescue dog due to his drive.  Obedience matches such as RallyO or Agility would be great work and fun for him.
If you are an active human and want a happy and energetic boy, then Ty is waiting to meet you. He is neutered and up-dated in his vaccinations and is micro-chipped.

GIDGET

ADOPTED!

Gidget is a spunky 8 year old Cock-a-Poo.  Her previous human became ill and passed away.  Gidget is in the process of going through a make-over; she endured 5 hours on the groom table to remove filthy, matted hair and trimming of extremely overgrown nails.  Both ears are on the mends from infection. The final step to her makeover will be a dental exam, cleaning and possible extractions.  Through her ordeal she maintained her very happy disposition.  Gidget would like her forever home with a mature individual or couple who'd like a wonderful companion dog.  She loves to be out in the yard sniffing where the rabbits and squirrels have traveled and is a great gardening buddy!  One of her favorite places to sleep is her very own laundry basket filled with pillow and blankets.

Gidget has found her forever home....she and Sherry are getting along splendidly....Hoorah  for Gidget!!

CHAMP

ADOPTED!

Meet CHAMP !!!

Handsome and HAPPY..... well, those words say it all.
This fantastic boy of 3-4yrs is one special and lucky dog. His earlier life was not so grand, but since coming to Chicagoland Shepherd Rescue he has really started to enjoy life.
Champ is always dancing, smiling, playing, and just acting silly.  He lives with two other shepherds and a cat in his foster home.  He gets along fine and follows their direction to mind his manners and be a good shepherd.  Little children would be a challenge for him as he is not conscience of his size and may herd them too much.  Children over 12 should be fine.  He is learning to walk nice on a leash and manners such as not jumping up when greeting new folks.
If you have room in your heart for this wonderful shepherd, go to our web-site and fill out an application for CHAMP.

HANNAH

ADOPTED!!

Meet Hannah...
They say blondes have more fun and that's true for Hannah.  This girl with her wild curls and silly antics will be your friend forever.

Because of her earlier life style, Hannah prefers to be in a home with no children, dogs, or cats. She loves to learn knew things; that is, if you can get her to stop dancing around and being silly.

Hannah is looking for the kind and wonderful leader of her pack to enjoy life to its fullest.

Do you need that special gal to come home to, that will always have a smile and tons of kisses and hugs to give?

 and debonair guy!

me.  I am the delight of my foster home.

Everything agrees with me; other dogs, cats, kids.  I know how to Sit, Walk nicely on a leash, shake hands and love to Play fetch.  I'll be teaching my foster Mom more as I spend more time with her.

JACK
ADOPTED!!

Hi – I’m Jack.   They say I am a two year old male black Lab, but I’m really just a goofy adolescent.  I’m not here right now because I am staying with my foster family and learning lots of neat stuff.

I have mastered the basic obedience commands:  come, sit and down.  We are still working on wait, stay, leave it and take it. My foster mom uses positive reinforcement and clicker training.  She measures out my daily ration of kibble and feeds them to me as training treats.

I am learning that my crate is my very own house.  Sometimes I sneak inside and wait for my foster mom to see me.  This makes her very happy and I always get a treat.  I stay in my crate all day when my foster mom goes to work.  She gives me a Kong stuffed with kibble when I go in.  After I finish working on that, I take a nap.  Before I know it, foster mom comes home and we go outside to play and, you know, go potty.

I want to talk about potty, because I never go potty in the house or in my crate.  If I have to go potty before our usual time, I will sit down in front of you and tell you.  This makes my foster mom laugh, but she does eventually stop laughing and listen to me.

When I first joined my foster family, I would mark stuff.  I was feeling kind of overwhelmed.   My foster mom helped me by limiting the size of the space I lived in.  At first, she kept me very close to her on a leash.  I could watch everything, but still be connected to her.  After a while, the kitchen became my headquarters, but if she couldn’t watch me, I was either outside in the yard or in my crate.  Now I have kitchen, family room and laundry room privileges when someone from the foster family is with me.   Otherwise, I nap in my crate.

I like to chew on empty plastic bottles – they are so noisy and fun!  My foster sister wants me to run and chase her, but I’d rather follow bunny tracks or bark at those pesky blue jays.  Sometimes my foster mom ties knots in rags so we can play tug of war.   I like going for car rides with my foster mom and look out the window at everything as we go by.  And I really like cuddling with everyone in my foster family.

I get along very well with my foster sister.  Even though I am bigger and stronger than she is, she says she is the boss and that is fine with me.  There are two cats in my foster family, but I get so excited when I see them, that my foster mom isn’t sure that we will play well together.  We’re working on this.

My foster mom says that I am ready for my forever home.  I would like my forever family to keep working with me – teaching me new tricks and stuff.  Trying to understand humans really tires me out, but one thing I know for sure is they really are a lot of fun to be around.

JACK HAS BEEN ADOPTED AND IS DOING GREAT IN HIS NEW FOREVER HOME!!

THANKS TO LYDIA, STEVE, DAVID & ILSA!!

CHELSEA

ADOPTED!

Chelsea 3 year old Shepherd mix

Meet our newest and smallest member to our rescue, "Chelsea", a 3yr old Shepherd mix. Well, smallest is relative to height and length, 'cause you see this sweet girl is a full-figured lady. Her owner recently passed on and with no family members, Chelsea had no place to go.  She found her way into our rescue through some kind folks. Chelsea is truly a precious gem waiting to share the rest of her life with a new family. Her foster mom raves about her ability to learn and adapt to everything she experiences. She enjoys her walks several times a day to help slim down her figure and she thinks barking is a waste of time.  Chelsea is happy to play and be silly at the right time, or simply put her nose on the windowsill and smell the fresh air and watch the birds and bees in the garden.  Her understanding of basic commands and eye contact grows every day... she is eager to learn and please.  This great little girl is fine with other dogs, cats and older children.  Her people skills and manners are top-notch. If you are the right family for this little lady  contact us to ADOPT Chelsea.
